We
Believe:
|
| |
The Bible is the inspired
Word of God. The Scriptures were given to men by God to reveal to us
His character and to give us guidelines to live by. (Timothy 3:16;
Peter 1:21) |
| |
Our God is One, but the Godhead is manifested in
three Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost).
(Philippians 2:6; John 14:21-26; 1 John 5:7) |
| |
- God the Father is greater than all. He is the Father of the
Son (Jesus Christ) and all that have the Spirit of His Son
dwelling in them. (John 14:28; John 16:28; Mark 14:36; Romans
8:15; Galatians 5:6,7)
|
| |
- God the Son is the flesh-covered Word, sent from heaven, born
of the virgin Mary, crucified on the cross, died and was buried,
raised from the dead, ascended to heaven and is the only Begotten
Son of the Father. (John 1:14; John 1:18; John 1:1; 1 Corinthians
15:3,4; Acts 1:9)
|
| |
- God the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) which proceeds forth from
both the Father and the Son. (John 15:26)
|
| |
Man is a created being, made in the image and likeness of God
(Genesis 1:26). Through Adam's transgression and fall, sin came into
the world (Genesis Chapter 3; 1 Corinthians 15:22; Romans 3:23).
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into the world to save (redeem)
the world (sinners) by giving His life and shedding His blood to
redeem and restore man back to God (Romans 5:12,19; 1 Timothy 1:15;
1 John 3:8).
|
| |
Salvation (Eternal Life) is the gift of God to man (Romans 6:23)
and is accompanied by justification and regeneration. This gift is
received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8).
Confession and repentance of sin leads a person to salvation by
accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and that person receives the
forgiveness of their sin (Romans 10:9,10; 2 Corinthians 7:10; 2
Peter 3:9; 1 John 5:12; Ephesians 1:7). At this point, a person
becomes a new creature which is also known as the new birth
experience, or being born again (2 Corinthians 5:17; John
3:3,5).

Water baptism is an ordinance of the church, a commandment of our
Lord Jesus Christ for Believers only, and is accomplished by
complete immersion in water. Water baptism should follow repentance
of the Believer and should be done in the name of the Father, and of
the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. This ordinance is symbolic for the
Believer to identify himself with Christ in His death, burial, and
resurrection. (Matthew 28:19; Colossians 2:12; Acts 8:36-39; Acts
16:33; Galatians 3:27)
|
| |
The doctrine of sanctification commences after the new birth
(salvation). It is a progressive work of grace, through faith which
helps us to live a life of holiness before God and men (Hebrews
12:14). The Word of God teaches us how to live holy lives and how to
keep our bodies and minds in sanctification. (1 Thessalonians 4:4; 1
Thessalonians 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians
3:12-14; 1 Corinthians 1:30)
|
| |
The baptism in the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) is subsequent to the
new birth (salvation) and is another gift from God (Acts 2:38,39).
The baptism in the Holy Spirit is accompanied by the evidence of
speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) gives the
utterance. (Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:8; Acts 19:1-7; Acts
2:4)
|
| |
The nine gifts of the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) (1 Corinthians
chapters 12 and 14) are given to men by the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost)
to build up the body of Christ (The Church). The nine fruit of the
Spirit (Galatians 5:22,23) are evidences of the Spirit working in
the believers’ lives to produce a Godly character. (Hebrews 2:4;
Jude 20)
|
| |
The resurrection of both the dead in Christ and the living in
Christ is a great hope for the Body of Christ (The Church). As Jesus
left this Earth, in like manner He shall come again (Acts 1:9-11).
When He comes, "the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which
are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). This
is commonly referred to as the Rapture. The word rapture is not
found in the Word of God, but is a word that describes what will
happen in the Scripture above. (1 Corinthians
15:51-54)
|
| |
The return of the Lord Jesus Christ following the Tribulation is
known as the Second Coming. He shall return to earth, as KING OF
KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS (Revelation 19:16), together with His
Saints, which includes the Believers that were washed in the blood
of Jesus (Revelation 19:7,8,14), who are kings and priests
(Revelation 1:5,6), and shall reign a thousand years (Revelation
20:6).
|
| |
Heaven and Hell are real places and both are eternal. Heaven is
God’s dwelling place (1 Kings 8:30), His throne is located there
(Psalm 11:4), Jesus Christ ascended back to Heaven (John 20:17) and
is preparing a place for born again Believers to live forever with
Him (John 14:1-3). Hell is a place where the wicked go (Psalm 9:17)
and is a place of everlasting punishment for the unbeliever,
disobedient, and those who reject the Gospel (Revelation 21:8;
Matthew 25:46; Hebrews 2:4). If a person dies in their sins they
will suffer the eternal punishment of hell and the lake of fire
(Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:15; Jude 7).
